The Uncharted has a standard Secondary Collision Brake, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Prologue doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

To deliver safety and visibility under dusty conditions the Subaru Uncharted’s backup monitor has a standard rear washer to keep the view clear. A camera washer system is only offered on some models of the Honda Prologue.

The Uncharted’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Prologue doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Uncharted and the Prologue have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, front wheel drive, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2025 Auto Issue reports that Subaru vehicles are more reliable than Honda vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Subaru first in overall reliability. Honda is ranked fourth.

The Uncharted Sport/GT’s standard electric motors produces 118 more horsepower (338 vs. 220) than the Prologue’s standard electric motor.

The Uncharted Sport/GT can travel longer on a full charge than the Prologue Elite (286 miles vs. 283 miles).

The Uncharted has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Prologue doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

For better stopping power the Uncharted’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the Prologue:

The Uncharted’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the Prologue are solid, not vented.

For better maneuverability, the Uncharted’s turning circle is 3.5 feet tighter than the Prologue’s (36.1 feet vs. 39.6 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Uncharted has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Prologue (8.2 vs. 8.1 inches), allowing the Uncharted to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Subaru Uncharted may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 800 pounds less than the Honda Prologue.

The Uncharted is 1 foot, 2.2 inches shorter than the Prologue, making the Uncharted easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The front grille of the Uncharted uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Prologue doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Subaru service is better than Honda. J.D. Power ranks Subaru third in service department satisfaction. With a 15% lower rating, Honda is ranked 7th.

The Uncharted’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Prologue’s rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Uncharted has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Prologue doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Subaru Uncharted has power folding mirrors that offer unparalleled convenience while maneuvering in tight places or parked. With the mirrors folded it’s easier to walk past and help prevent parking damage. The mirrors can be quickly unfolded when the driver is ready to leave. Power folding mirrors are only offered on the Prologue Elite.

Both the Uncharted and the Prologue have standard heated front seats. The Uncharted GT also has standard heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the Prologue.
